Course Details
Build foundational knowledge and skills in the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning industry with this course. This course will prepare learners with the foundational knowledge and skills specific to working in HVAC, focusing on HVAC topics including refrigeration, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and heat pump systems. It is fully online, on demand, and takes approximately 14 hours to complete.
The demand for HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) technicians in the U.S. is steadily growing due to the increasing need for climate control systems in residential, commercial, and industrial spaces. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projects the employment of HVAC mechanics and installers to grow by 5% from 2022 to 2032, which is about as fast as the average for all occupations. Factors driving this growth include advancements in energy-efficient systems, the rise of smart HVAC technology, and the need to replace aging systems and retiring technicians.
After This Course, You Will Be Able ToLearners will be able to: Define mechanical refrigeration and describe its basic operation in air conditioning and heat pump systems. Explain temperature measurement, fluid pressure, heat transfer, heat capacity, enthalpy, and phase change effects. Describe the function and operation of compressors, condensers, evaporators, metering devices, and heat pump systems.Skills you will learn
